A early start down at Westgate in this must win game.
A difficult pitch and unusually warm conditions led to an end to end game with chances created.
We started well and our quick midfield play led to a ball down the wing to Liam who played an excellent cross to Corey no cooly slotted past the keeper to make it 1-0.
Our midfield wide men were a constant threat but also defended well, Corey being named man of the match.
They broke forward but played their best football in their on half, excellent defending by Robbie and Keaton preventing their main goal threat from getting a shot away. The only time they he did break through, Cameron stood him up well and he missed the target.
We created a lot of chances in the 1st half but couldn't convert them and following Liam picking up an injury, forcing him off to be replaced by Jack just before the break. More chances came and went in the 2nd half, falling to Fergus, Lucas and Corey before Jack had the best one of all and managed to hit it past the post. We brought fresh legs on with Adam replacing Jack with 10 mins to go and he went close again, narrowly missing the post with a glorious chance as Westgate were pushing for the equaliser.
In the dying stages of the game we survived a pretty good penalty shout for handball and in the end held on to take all 3 points.
Well done lads, can't fault the effort levels and with better finishing the game would have been out of sight before half time. Please keep practising your control and shooting.
